The Jeffrey Dahmer Files (2012)

Rated 5 of 5 stars on Netflix

This documentary was fantastic! Told from the perspectives of the medical examiner, the arresting officer who got the confession, and the next door neighbor, it’s their recollections of Jeffrey Dahmer and their own lives in relation to him, from right before his arrest through his death in prison. The visuals are harmless seeming re-enactments of Jeffrey Dahmer’s daily life in pieces interspersed with video footage of the arrest, discovery, and trial. It’s a very simple, very narrow view that is done exquisitely.

All that said, I really need to stop watching so much stuff about real serial killers. I’m going to have a freak out.
